“Pilturen” is a nice tour with a starting point from the apartment. It follows the path up to the top of Geilohovda. The trail is marked and signposted from the west side of the old Geilo cable car. You walk up to the Holms Hotel, the big white building behind the Railwaystation. Follow the road further uphill behind the hotel towards the Geilo Panorama Apartments, the path follows the road past the apartments and across the yard. Then it turns uphill in a light birch forest. Nice to have a rest on one of the many yellow painted benches. From Geilohovda follow the path the edge of the hills westwards, past Gullsteinhovda, Verpehovda and finally Urundberget. You will pass along the top points of the skilifts along the way.
From Urundberget the walk along the path goes down towards Tuftelia. Cross the main road and follow the gravel road down until you reach the Ustedalsfjorden Rundt, just before Tuftebrua. Then follow the tour signs back to Geilo. This is an intermediate trip, 14,1 km and approx. 4 hours.
